After a week long rains, I finally had my trees installed. I used Jose (571-251-8867) from the forum and I am satisfied with their service. One tip if you choose to use Jose, you should provide all materials yourself, including soil, mulch, stakes, and etc. and only pay for their labor. You can order top soil and mulch from Virginia Ground Cover. Per tree based cost is the best. After I bought the trees (from Blue Mount Nursery), I had them come to estimate based on the size and amount of trees. 2013-10-15 11:04:54 |

I would like to share about my bad experience with Jose and Elmer so you would not do same as me. I had Jose signed a contract to do few jobs (he claimed that he know how to perform all these jobs with his partner, Elmer, Steve, Carlos), but unfortunately it was really bad experiences and he got 99% of money (he asked for cash to buy materials and the labors that he hire). I told him that I need to hold some money till the end. Then he had his children/wife came pick him and up every time (full car of kids and his wife) and asked to have few hundred dollars for buying food (sometimes his partner's kids/wife). So finally he got most of the money. The following was what he did and the lousy job, I need to redo everything: 1. per contract, he needs to remove 3 trees, but when the time to cut, he has another guy come and said only can cut 1 tree with the price in contract. 2. per contract, he replaced my gutter, but the gutter was still have leaking water for a couple months now. it is so difficult for him to come fix, finally he came and tried to fix for few times, but still not fix and leak water in the middle and 2 sides of the gutter. Another bad thing is he installed the gutter screen per contract, then he took away when we were not home. I called him and told him that my neighbor saw it (my neighbor had him do some job, but trash was not picked up for more than 4 weeks, when he came to pick up trash of my neighbor, he took the screen of my gutter) and I would report to police for stolen, then he came and put them back. 3. attic insulation was bad also, he did not know how to operate the rental machine, so the material and machine rental were all wasted. 4. per contract, he need to replace the garden valve because of leaking water, he had someone come look and never come back to replace. 5. remove weed, seed lawn, but when they started the job, Steve asked to charge more because he would need to put weed blocker (for $400), I told him if he would tell me earlier, I can buy from Costco for $89/roll). And he's trying to ask for more and more money. I told them I would not pay for extra, then they did lousy job on another side of lawn, so the material and not even look on two sides of my lawn. And the contract was signed by Jose, but he always told me to talk to Elmer. Then Elmer told me talk to Jose. Overall, this was really bad experience with Jose, Elmer, Steve, Carlos. Only 1 thing has no compliant is painting; at least not seeing any wrong yet at this time. 2014-12-11 20:03:20 |

I write my comments on this person here to let people at Chinese community know how awful this guy is. I forgot to come here to check first before I hired him. Lessons learned. First of all, this guy is not a honest person and he would ask for huge price if you don't compare with other contractors. Second, the quality of work is just so awful. He doesn't have good skills doing anything at all, including cutting trees, painting, etc. I used a few tree service contractors, so far the best one I used is the guy named Francisco(703-346-4175), which is referred by Anchor Homes owner Steve Zhao to me. I put his number here if anyone needs tree service. His price is fair and the quality is excellent. I hope the Chinese community can benefit from his service. 2015-04-20 20:39:40 |
