Once again Inspire Learning is pleased to offer an Iowa Test preparation class over the upcoming semester. Class is taught by Dr. Eugene Hsiang.
IOWA TEST PREP: This class is designed for students who wish to test into Algebra 1 in 7th grade. As you may know, your child must score above the 91st percentile on the Iowa Test and pass advanced on the 7th grade SOL in order to be eligible for Algebra 1 as a 7th grader. Past statistics show that students who do not complete Algebra 1 by the end of 7th grade will have less than a 5.5% chance of being accepted into TJ. Dr. Hsiang will review essential arithmetic concepts, including ratios, fractions, area, and probability. In addition, the course will also go beyond Iowa material to lay important foundations in pre-algebra and algebra concepts, such as variable expressions, solutions of equations, inequalities, and functions.
Time: Saturdays, 7-9pm, from Sep. 2013 to Jan. 2014.
Place: 13102 Peach Leaf Pl., Fairfax, VA 22030
