Details: | I got quotes for a new roof as mine was nearing 28 years old. The quotes ranged from $30,000-$40,000 for a new roof (size, steep incline, multiple angles all factors). One company noted damage that might be covered under my insurance. They asked me to arrange for an inspection with my insurance. Insurance agreed and paid for an entire new roof less my deductible. My insurance paid less than $15,000 total to this company for a complete replacement. This company knew they could get over $30,000 for the same roof had they not mentioned the damage. Something to consider.... an estimate from a reputable company is free and can give you an idea of possible coverage before you contact your insurance and risk increasing rates. They should also be willing to meet with your insurance adjuster to make sure the insurance company does their job honestly. My insurance went up $200 a year as a result of the claim. Nice trade off for a new roof that was nearing end of life as it was. For those concerned about damage from the last storm or previous storms, feel free to contact the company rep I used.
