| Details: | I bought Select Home Warranty about half year ago and I filed the my first claim a couple of days ago. It turned out that the company is really just try to get away from paying out barely anything. One of the burners of my electric stove stopped working and the stove is only around 5 years old. I called in and we got a tech to check on the stove two days later which is not bad at all. The tech took some pictures and told us there are a couple of parts need to be replaced. I got a call from Select Home Warranty and saying that the stove is not gonna be repaired and they offer 150 cash to settle for us to replace it. I paid just under 1200 dollars for 3 years of coverage and I still need to pay most of the money out of my pocket to replace the stove. That does not sound right. While talking to them on the phone, the rep started reading from the contract which very few people would look into at the time of buying the policy. That is right, people, be very careful on this kind of warranty services!!!!! I cancelled my policy and wait for them to calculate how much I can get back. Regardless, I am canceling it and a lesson well learned!!!!!
