Dear Parents/Guardians, Sunshine Academy will offer two Summer Camp seminars on April 6th and 7th, featuring excellent FCPS teachers who will teach in our summer camp this year to inform parents of our program. It is a great opportunity for you to get detailed information about the camp, meet a group of excellent FCPS teachers who will teach at the camp, and get your questions answered about how our camp can help your kids. The following topics will be covered in both seminars: • How to help your 1st and 2nd graders become avid readers and expressive writers • The type of tests your children will take in 1st and 2nd grades and how to prepare for them • How to help your children get into the AAP (GT) Program • How to help your 3rd and 4th graders sharpen their reading, writing and critical thinking skills • How to help your 5th and 6th graders increase their vocabulary and write impressive essays • How to help your 7th and 8th graders get into TJ • How to help 9th and 10th graders build solid foundations to get ready for SAT • Math Classes and Chess Lessons • Published Creative Stories by Our Students The 2012 summer camp will be held in two locations: Session I (6/24-7/19/2013): McNair Elementary School, 2499 Thomas Jefferson Drive, Herndon, VA 20171. Session II (7/22-8/16/2013): Shrevewood Elementary School, 7525 Shreve Rd, Falls Church, VA 22043. The daily summer camp schedule is 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. Our program has been beneficial for students of all ages. It has helped students become skilled readers and published writers. Many students who attended this program have had their stories published in the Anthology of Short Stories by Young Americans. In addition, a good number of students have also become national and state winners in various prestigious math competitions. Many students who attended our GT prep have been accepted by the GT program, and many students who attended their TJ prep have been admitted into TJ. Not only will our camp help your children improve their academic skills and reach their fullest potential, but it is also very well priced and inexpensive, making it the ideal place for your children to attend in the summer.
